American Trading International, Inc. President & CEO Seth Merrick Wilen joined an expert panel on the topic of “The Future of International Trade” at the Los Angeles World Affairs Council headquarters on January 31. Fellow speakers on the panel included Terri Batch, a Sr. International Trade Specialist at the U.S. Department of Commerce, and Brian Peck, the Director of the USC Center for Transnational Law & Business. The panelists discussed current and past trade policies, expanding our trade borders, ethical policies in international trade and fairness in international trade. Mr. Wilen offered insight from the perspective of a private SME owner who has been successful in growing business in more than 80 markets around the world.
The Los Angeles World Affairs Council is a non-partisan and non-profit organization that puts together events, shows and panels on world affairs related topics for professionals in the Los Angeles area. Since the founding of the organization, they have hosted eight US presidents, some 250 foreign heads of states and a long list of foreign ministers, lawmakers, military leaders, corporate and financial executives, scientists and Pulitzer Prize winning journalists. Such past speakers have included President Bill Clinton, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Elon Musk among many others.
